Lisa Landry (born August 5) is an American Stand-up comedian, actress and writer. She grew up in a very religious family in the bustling metropolis of Harvey, Louisiana. Her mother served in the U.S. Navy and was often stationed in other countries leaving Lisa and her little brother for months at a time to be raised by their father and grandparents. As a consequence, Lisa has an aversion to uniforms and great adoration for the elderly. They fall asleep early and have cabinets full of pills.

Lisa Landry is Cajun. Lisa dreamed of studying theater in New York and was so dedicated to getting into the American Musical and Dramatic Academy that she flew from NOLA to Atlanta (the only Southern city meeting potential students that year) to audition for their acting program. She was quickly accepted and moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in scene study and table waiting.

After nine years of open mics, Lisa Landry starred in her own half-hour special "Comedy Central Presents Lisa Landry" on the Comedy Central cable TV network. [1][2] Lisa taped her special while pregnant. Not wanting to be remembered as "the knocked up chick" on Comedy Central, she concealed her pregnancy by wearing a black, velour hoodie because as that's what all the girls in high school did. Always a crowd favorite, her special placed high in a national vote for the Showcase Showdown, making her the first female comedian to place in the top three.

For four years, Lisa Landry contributed jokes to Us Weekly in their wildly popular Fashion Police. Landry has appeared on The Tom and Bob Show, the Todd and Tyler Radio Empire and is a favorite on The Uncle Nasty Show. She was a featured performer on Premium Blend, Bonnie Hunt, ComedydotTV and the E! Channel. She was a commentator on CMT's 20 Greatest Redneck Moments and her commentary was liked so much she was featured as a stand-out in TV Guide. Lisa Landry was offered the first ever talent holding deal with Lifetime Television. She made her late night television debut on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and received a standing ovation from the studio audience.

She self-produced her first comedy CD, "Put Your Keys in the Keybowl". It was chosen to be one of the Top Ten Best Comedy CD's by the comedy editors on iTunes and was also included that same year (2008) in the Top Ten Best by Punchline Magazine. Her follow-up project is the DVD "Brazillionaire". It was shot in Denver, Colorado and Lisa hired the same production crew who taped President Obama's acceptance speech at the 2010 DNC. The CD of the same title is available on iTunes as of June 2011. Excerpts of both albums can be heard on Raw Dog and/or Pandora.

She met her husband in New York City, she currently lives in Los Angeles and performs all over the United States. She is married and is the mother of a little boy, Ari. Landry's son, Ari is a very lively child with an insatiable desire to grab women's butts in amusement parks, shopping malls and grocery stores. Lisa suspects her husband trained their son to do this while she was on tour.

Lisa Landry was raised as a Catholic and converted to Judaism while she was pregnant with her son.
